But if you're a diehard fan, you want to watch your team - that's when the NFL has you by the short and curlies and they know it. If you were just into NFL football but agnostic to the teams you watch, you'd put on whatever games are on in your market, and you can do that with a regular antenna. Ultimately, that's all it is - brand loyalty. And like nearly every other commercial entity on the planet, the more loyalty you have, the more incentive the merchant has to charge you for it - there is no brand loyalty stronger than sports fandom. It's very simple for fans outside of their team's market to watch their favorite team play. I think you're confusing hard with expensive. It should not be this hard for fans who relocate outside their teams market to watch their favorite team play. It’s amazing how much the NFL does to screw their generational fans.
